Before you go on to the graphs consider this. What does it mean to belong to a generation? It means that you were born at a particular time along with others and were affected by several political, economical and social events. According to Wikipedia the generations are divided as:
- The Greatest Generation, or "G.I. Generation," are those who were born from around 1901 to 1927 and came of age during the Great Depression.
- The Silent Generation were born from approximately 1925 to 1942. It includes some who fought in World War II, most of those who fought the Korean War and many during the Vietnam War.
- The Baby Boomers came after the World War II, born between 1946 and 1964. It is relatively a large demographic cohort.
- Generation X, Gen X, was born from the early-to-mid 1960s to the early 1980s.
- Millennials, also known as "Generation Y", were born from the early 1980s to the mid 1990s to early 2000s.
- Generation Z was born from the mid-1990s to early-2000s. However, there is little consensus regarding ending birth years.
